We will keep you posted for future plans.
For primary school children
·Open 3.30pm until 6.00pm Monday to Thursday in school term-time.·
We aim to provide a safe and happy child-centred environment, where children can relax, play and learn through self-chosen activities. The qualified play workers are actively involved in helping the children to get along and make new friends. We work closely with parents to help your child feel happy and supported here. If you have any concerns please talk to the After School Club supervisor, or Maggie Norwood, the manager. The staff ratio is one play worker to eight children, with a higher staff ratio for outings. Weekly staff meetings ensure that the program of activities and the needs of the children receive close attention.
If your child can't attend
It is very important to email (preferably) or phone the office before 2.30pm if your child is ill or not attending the After School Club that afternoon, otherwise we need to locate a missing child, which delays everyone. If your child is attending a club it is very important to let us know. If you change your booking you must contact the office, (not a playworker) and the school.
Please make sure your contact details are up to date and let us know if your phone number changes.
Precaution
In the unlikely event of a child becoming separated from the pick-up group with in the school or playground children should never leave the playground, but return to their class room or the school office. Staff will regularly remind children of these procedures. Please talk through this process with your child, so they are clear about what to do.
No scooters or bikes
Please do not let children bring scooters or bikes to the Bath House as they can make the journey from school unsafe.
Signing out
Parents/carers need to sign their child out of the Bath House when they come to pick them up at the end of the day. The registers are in the atrium to the right of the doors as you come in.
What do the children do?
The children enjoy a wide range of activities including many arts and crafts, sports and games, bingo, cooking, board games, imaginative play, with lots of encouragement for their own freely chosen activities. We have a large hall for games with a soft play area, and 3 quieter areas for crafts, computer games and TV. There is a kitchen for cooking activities as well as snacks and drinks, and an outdoor play area at the back.
The children make friends and play sociably with others.
