Sunshine Group
Ages 3 to 4 years
The Bath House offers a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where children learn through creative play and are responded to as individuals. The children at the Bath House have strong relationships with staff and are listened to and valued. Children talk about their excitement about attending the Bath House and have a strong sense of ownership and control over the activities they take part in. Parents are welcomed, included and able to approach staff with any concerns they have and parents feel happy and confident to leave their children in our care.
Early Years Foundation Stage
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the government framework and standards that informs all early years childcare. At the Bath House we work within the EYFS to ensure the best possible outcomes for your child's welfare, learning and development.
Records are kept of each child's progress in all these areas of development, and they will be made available to the parents/carers each term. Parents will have a one to one interview with the key worker twice each year.
Our staff child ratio is at least 1 to 5 and all our staff are qualified in childcare.

In Sunshine Group we understand the children’s desire for independence, challenge, stimulation and exploration, and aim to meet the needs of their enquiring minds! We believe our programme of activities is a thoughtful and age appropriate balance of free, open ended exploration of resources and toys, with more specific adult-led structured learning fed in to the daily schedule.
Making and respecting friends is also a big theme in our group, negotiating the world of social play, listening to others, turn-taking and awareness of feelings is promoted and supported by our skilled and caring staff team.
For most children it is the year before starting in Reception class, so our emphasis is on building relationships with a broader range of adults, working as a team, independence in self-care, confidence in expressing ourselves as well as the importance of listening to each other.
Our children are increasingly aware of and involved in the themes and topics we introduce, often asking questions and wanting to find more information, through books and safe use of the Internet, we find learning together is really fun!
Through a combination of consolidating existing skills, and developing new ones in readiness for school, key-workers plan activities for individual children to help support their different learning needs, across the seven EYFS areas of learning and development.
